At Badanai Young Company (BYC), we believe theatre is more than just singing, dancing, and acting — it’s about helping young people discover who they are. Every class is a chance for kids, teens, and young adults to build confidence, spark creativity, and form friendships that last a lifetime.
From their very first steps on stage to taking on leading roles, BYC students are supported by a passionate team of directors, choreographers, and mentors who celebrate each child’s growth and individuality. In our care, students aren’t just learning lines and music — they’re learning to dream big, work hard, and shine brightly.
With a welcoming new home at 499 Dewe Avenue, BYC offers programs for every age and stage. Whether your young person is ready for their first theatre adventure or eager to take on a full-scale musical, there’s a place for them here in your theatre family.
At the BYC Christmas Party, we proudly shared our new season! From first steps on stage to full-scale productions, our 2026 Winter–Spring season offers young performers a place to grow, belong, and shine.

Big dreams start here.
From first steps on stage to full-scale musicals, BYC programs grow with your child every step of the way.
More than theatre — it’s life skills in action.
At BYC, kids don’t just learn lines and choreography — they learn to express themselves, work as a team, and grow in confidence. Every program blends creativity, friendship, and mentorship, helping young people shine both on stage and in life.
The magic-makers behind the curtain.
It takes a village to create great theatre, and ours is filled with talented directors, choreographers, and mentors who believe in every child’s potential.
The BYC Directing Team:
Amanda Husiak • Aubrey Bickerton • Bella MacArthur • Brandon Doner • Candi Badanai • Cooper Fraser • Courtney Davis • Danni Gale • Emily Gernat • Emmy Badanai • Gabby Carlin • Jaime Morrison • Lawrence Badanai • Sydney Rollick
Together, they bring creativity, expertise, and a whole lot of heart to every production.
A space designed to inspire.
Our brand-new home at 499 Dewe Avenue is bright, open, and fully accessible. With plenty of parking and safe drop-off space, families can relax knowing rehearsals are both convenient and welcoming.
All Badanai Young Company students receive their own individual costume for the production, which they are welcome to use and keep after the show. Providing individual costumes ensures proper fit, comfort, and safety for each performer, while also helping students fully step into their character and feel proud of their role on stage. These costumes often become cherished keepsakes and can be reused for future performances, dress-up, or creative play.
If the costume fee exceeds the amount already paid, an invoice will be issued for the remaining balance. Fundraising opportunities will be available to help offset these costs.
