Smart, sincere, and painfully self-conscious. Evan struggles with severe social anxiety and feels invisible in his own life. He longs for connection but lacks the confidence to reach for it honestly. When an unexpected situation gives him the chance to reinvent himself, he steps into a version of who he wishes he could be — with consequences that spiral beyond his control. This role requires emotional depth, vulnerability, and strong acting instincts.
Character Age: 16
Vocal Range: Pop Soprano (F3–E5)
Connor’s younger sister. Thoughtful, guarded, and quietly strong. Zoe often feels overlooked within her own family and carries complicated emotions about her brother. She is intelligent, independent, and resistant to superficial high school dynamics. Beneath her composure is someone longing to be understood and valued.
Character Age: 17
Vocal Range: Pop Soprano (F3–E5)
Driven, articulate, and relentlessly involved. Alana is earnest to a fault and channels her need for connection into productivity and activism. Beneath her confidence and polished exterior lies a deep loneliness and desire to matter. This role requires strong comic timing balanced with emotional honesty.

Vocal Range: Pop Bari/Tenor (G2–G4)
Angry, unpredictable, and isolated. Connor has long struggled with emotional volatility and disconnection. Others see him as a troubled loner, but there are layers of pain and vulnerability beneath the surface. The actor must embody both intensity and fragility, with the ability to shift between grounded realism and heightened theatricality.

Vocal Range: Pop Tenor (A2–B4)
Droll, sarcastic, and quick-witted. Jared masks his insecurities with humor and bravado. He enjoys stirring the pot but also craves validation and belonging. A strong comedic actor with sharp timing is essential, along with the ability to reveal deeper emotional layers when required.
Character Age: 40s
Vocal Range: Pop Alto (F3–Eb5 belt)
Evan’s single mother. Overworked and stretched thin, yet fiercely loving and determined. Heidi carries guilt about not always being present while trying to keep their lives afloat. She wants desperately to connect with her son but often struggles to break through his emotional walls. A powerhouse acting role requiring grounded emotional authenticity.
Character Age: 40s
Vocal Range: Pop Soprano (F#3–E5 belt)
Connor and Zoe’s mother. To Evan, she appears warm, nurturing, and endlessly attentive. To her own children, the relationship is more complicated. Cynthia is searching for understanding and meaning in the aftermath of unimaginable loss. Requires emotional range and strong vocal stamina.

Connor and Zoe’s father. Often reserved and pragmatic, Larry struggles to express vulnerability. He carries regret about missed opportunities to connect with his son. This role requires subtlety and emotional restraint that builds toward powerful moments of release.
Character Age: Teens to Adults
Represents students, online voices, and the broader community. Highly featured in “You Will Be Found,” Act Two scenes, and the Finale. Strong ensemble singers with emotional presence and movement ability are encouraged to audition. Additional featured moments may be assigned.

• You will be asked to cold read from the script at your audition.
