At Badanai Young Company, we believe theatre has the power to change lives.
Every season, young people walk through our doors looking for a place to belong, to make friends, to build confidence, and to discover what they are capable of. Along the way they learn to sing, dance, act, work as a team, and perform in front of live audiences — but the lessons go far beyond the stage.
For some, BYC is their first theatre experience.
For others, it becomes a second home.
Whether your child dreams of performing on Broadway or simply wants to try something new, our programs are designed to help young people grow in a supportive, encouraging, and creative environment.

Badanai Young Company is proud to have been selected to participate in the inaugural Canadian pilot program through iTheatrics and Music Theatre International.
This season, students will have the unique opportunity to help develop and perform LYLE, LYLE, CROCODILE JR., a brand-new musical based on Bernard Waber's beloved books and the Columbia Pictures film.
Featuring music and lyrics by an award-winning creative team—including Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, alongside Ari Afsar, Emily Gardner, Xu Hall, Mark Sonnenblick, and Joriah Kwamé—this exciting new musical is being developed before its wider release, giving participants the rare opportunity to help shape a production that audiences across the wolrd will one day experience.
This isn't just another musical.

ENCORE ENSEMBLE
For performers looking for additional performance opportunities.
Some performers aren't ready to leave the stage when class is over.
Encore Ensemble is designed for students who love to perform and want even more opportunities to grow their skills, gain experience, and take the stage.
Participants focus on:
- •Vocal Performance
- Choreography
- Stage Presence
- Teamwork
- Performance Technique
Throughout the season, Encore students prepare for community performances, special appearances, festivals, an out-of-town performance opportunity, and select competition experiences.
While competition opportunities are available, the focus remains on personal growth, confidence-building, teamwork, and creating exceptional performances together.

The six wives of Henry VIII are taking the mic and reclaiming their stories — transforming 500 years of history into a high-energy pop concert packed with powerhouse vocals, unforgettable music and QUEENS. Written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, SIX has become an international musical phenomenon, earning Tony Awards, Drama Desk Awards and acclaim on Broadway, in London's West End and around the world. SIX: Teen Edition brings the full-length musical to young performers in a version created specifically for teen actors and family audiences. And now it's coming to Badanai Young Company.
