Badanai Young Company is searching for six powerhouse young performers to become the Queens in our 2027 production of SIX: The Musical — Teen Edition, written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss.
Presented as a pop concert, SIX gives each Queen the opportunity to step forward and reclaim her story through contemporary music, comedy, movement and some seriously demanding vocals. The Teen Edition is a full-length adaptation created specifically for young performers and family audiences.

Badanai Theatre — 499 Dewe Ave., Thunder Bay
Auditions are open to young performers from across Thunder Bay and area. You do not need to currently be enrolled in a BYC program to audition.
Performers auditioning for one of the six Queens must be under 18.
Please prepare a short musical-theatre selection that showcases your voice and acting ability.
Your selection:
Audition materials may be stopped once the creative team has heard what it needs. This is not a reflection on the quality of the audition. Some performers may also be asked to read from the script, learn a short musical passage or participate in a movement assessment.
Callbacks will be held if required. Being invited to a callback does not guarantee casting, and not receiving a callback does not necessarily mean that a performer will not be cast.
Callback information will be provided directly to selected performers.
This is a true ensemble show. Each Queen has her own featured number and personality, but all six performers remain integral to the production throughout. SIX requires performers who can deliver demanding contemporary vocals while creating distinctive characters and functioning as a tight ensemble.
Vocal Range: Ab3–Eb5
Bold, commanding and completely sure of herself. Aragon has presence from the moment she steps onstage and isn't interested in being pushed aside. Her featured number, “No Way,” calls for a confident contemporary vocalist with power, attitude and control.
We're looking for: a commanding performer with a strong pop voice, stage presence, confidence and the ability to lead an audience.
Vocal Range: C4–E5
Funny, impulsive and wonderfully chaotic. Boleyn doesn't seem to take much seriously — even when the stakes are very high. Her featured number is “Don't Lose Ur Head.”
We're looking for: a performer with excellent comic instincts, personality, energy and a distinctive contemporary pop sound. Timing and character are especially important for this role.
Vocal Range: A3–D5
Warm, sincere and grounded, with an unexpectedly goofy sense of humour. Seymour gets one of the show's biggest vocal moments with the power ballad “Heart of Stone.”
We're looking for: a strong storyteller with emotional honesty and a powerful contemporary voice capable of carrying a major ballad.
Vocal Range: G3–B4
Confident, savvy and having the time of her life. Cleves knows exactly how well things worked out for her — even if history hasn't always given her credit for it. Her featured number is “Get Down.”
We're looking for: charisma, confidence, humour, strong rhythm and someone who can completely own the stage.
Vocal Range: A3–F#5
Smart, quick and funny, Howard initially appears to fit comfortably into the pop-star world of SIX, but her story develops considerably as the show progresses. Her featured number, “All You Wanna Do,” requires both substantial vocal ability and mature dramatic storytelling.
We're looking for: an exceptional contemporary vocalist with range, stamina, acting depth and the ability to navigate the significant tonal journey of the character.
Vocal Range: A3–E5
Thoughtful, grounded and warm. Parr ultimately challenges the competition itself and helps the Queens recognize that their identities are worth more than their relationships with Henry. Her featured number is “I Don't Need Your Love.”
We're looking for: a confident singer and thoughtful actor with warmth, maturity and the ability to anchor the ensemble.
SIX is vocally demanding. We're looking for six performers who bring more than great voices. We want to see individuality. Each Queen needs her own personality, energy and point of view.
Strong movement ability is important, but you do not need to arrive as a fully trained dancer. We want performers who can learn choreography, commit to movement and confidently perform while singing.
Most importantly: don't come in trying to imitate the Broadway or West End performers. Bring us your version of the Queen.
At its heart, SIX celebrates the individuality of the people portraying these women. Badanai Young Company welcomes young performers from across our community to audition.
SIX: THE MUSICAL — TEEN EDITION
Music, Lyrics & Book by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss
📅 Performances: April 12–17, 2027
📍 Badanai Theatre, 499 Dewe Ave.
The production runs approximately 75 minutes without intermission and includes all of the songs from the original musical, with adjustments made for teen performers and family audiences.
At BYC, we're proud of the quality of theatre our young performers create — but the finished production is only part of the experience. The months between an audition and opening night are where so much of the important stuff happens. It's where performers strengthen their voices, develop their acting and movement skills, learn to work as an ensemble, take creative risks and discover what they're capable of. It's also where friendships happen. Where confidence grows. Where someone who walks nervously into an audition can eventually walk confidently onto a stage.
Six Queens will ultimately take the stage. But the journey to get there starts with having the courage to audition. 👑 Take the mic. Tell your story. Find your Queen.
